The Spanish Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists AEQCT is a prestigious National Institution founded in 1958 with an exclusive scientific, technical and non-profit character.
This Association brings together people with links to companies producing dyes, auxiliary and finishing products, textile fiber producers, textile machinery manufacturers and representatives, industrial companies dedicated to bleaching, dyeing, stamping and finishing of textile materials, as well as managers and technicians of the sector, university professors, researchers from CSIC and Technological Centers and university students.
The AEQCT is a full member of the International Federation of Associations of Textile Chemists and Colorists IFATCC and as such, has organized the 10th IFATCC International Congress (Barcelona 1975) and the 21st IFATCC International Congress (Barcelona 2008) coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the AEQCT.
It also manages at national level the IFATCC Scholarships for international mobility of young university graduates and researchers.
It is a member of the Latin American Federation of Textile Chemists and Colorists Associations (FLAQT).
The AEQCT organizes annually a prestigious national Symposium, in addition to technical conferences, publication of technical books, the AEQCT Award, publishes the Journal of Chemistry and Textile Industry, and newsletters for its members through its website.
History
The Spanish Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AEQCT) was founded in 1958 with an exclusive scientific, technical and non-profit character.
We start here a small series of notes or flashbacks of relevant events that have taken place over the years.
Starting with the international congresses. Throughout these 59 years, the association has been responsible for organizing two international congresses of the FIAQCT (International Federation of Associations of Textile Chemists and Colorists), the first was 42 years ago in May 1975, when the President of the AEQCT was Dr. Lluís Mª Munné. The second in 2008, 9 years ago, when the President was Dr. Josep Mª Canal.
